All we can do is keep thinking for ourselves and create a tribe of counter-intuitive thinkers. Glad you’re one as well.

We can thank not only the media–but also the government–for the “lack” programming ingrained in most people today. Just look at the proposed bailout of automakers. What message is that really sending when a government enables and rewards poorly-run businesses? It sets up business owners to have a victim/welfare mindset. And it destroys capitalism. I mean, if a successful business is forced to pay for other businesses run by people who can’t figure out how to manage a company, then what’s the incentive to work hard and smart?

Just look at Southwest: they hedged their fuel buys, provided outstanding service, solved customer problems, and were profitable. They were foreced to unfairly compete with other, poorly-managed, “push-a-service-and-forget-problem-solving” airlines that were given a free pass after 9/11.

Thankfully there are folks like you out there still who “get it,” and realize that we all create our own reality — separate from the economy, the government, and the media.
